What is this?

I have a tendency to be unreasonably opinionated. I’ll inundate my friends with takes so half-baked that I sometimes don’t even believe myself. Annoying? Probably (but you’ll have to ask them). Productive? I think so.

On a walk one day in Washington, D.C., I started shouting about something to a group of my friends. My friend Brett enjoyed that particular take and told me I should start a podcast (embarrassing) and call it “Things I Think I Think.” I got immediately jealous because he thought of such a good name. In fact, I almost wanted to take him up on it because of how good the name was. It also happens to perfectly illustrates exactly what I will attempt to do here.

Why subscribe?

Life is just a long process of deepening our understanding. I happen to think the most annoying and pretentious thing a person can do is declare anything as absolutely true- especially when it comes to subjective opinions. In this newsletter, I’ll write about things that I think I think are true. I might be wrong lots of the time. But then again, I don’t really care about being “right”- whatever that means. I just hope to offer an interesting perspective. An observation on popular culture that makes both me and you think together.
